I hold a first class honours degree in Psychology (BSc) from Cardiff University. Having completed my fourth, clinical year of a Masters in mindfulness based Core Process psychotherapy, at the Karuna Institute, I'm now working towards graduation in Summer 2022. I'm also a trainee member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I began my psychotherapy training at the Bath Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BCPC) in 2016 where I was introduced to the Humanistic approach to therapy. This is founded on the belief that we all have an inner drive towards being well and given the right conditions, such as an attuned therapeutic relationship, we can all move out of difficulty and thrive.
"We don’t have to do this all alone; we were never meant to."
In 2017, I discovered the Karuna Institute, in Dartmoor, which offered a really special training – an in depth master’s level qualification in the embodied mindful approach to therapy that I had come to believe so strongly in. My daily meditation practice is the ground from which I begin all my therapeutic work.
I'm extremely passionate about the connection between mind, body and spirit, as well as the healing power of present moment awareness and the therapeutic relationship. I have a particular interest in the impact of traumatic experiences, the power of relationship and the wisdom of the body.
Prior to beginning this training, I worked in primary education before leaving to look after my family and support our family business.
